## What it does

Sonilo's official MCP server scores picture rather than prompts: video_to_music watches a clip and composes to its pacing and cut points, video_to_sfx lays effects against the same timing, and the video_to_video_* variants hand back the muxed file instead of a loose stem. Text-only tools cover fixed-length cues, plus dubbing and audio ducking under dialogue. The reason a filmmaker-agent should care is provenance: Sonilo says its models are trained exclusively on professionally licensed music including Shutterstock's catalogue, which is the claim no Suno wrapper can make.

MIT, Python >=3.10, PyPI sonilo-mcp 0.18.0 shipped 17 Aug 2026 — seventeen releases since mid-July, so it is the fastest-moving music server in this directory, at 54 stars and listed in the official MCP registry. Set SONILO_API_KEY or run `sonilo login` from the sonilo-cli npm package first; the server has no hosted remote. Read the licensing page before you deliver: commercial-use rights are plan-gated to Pro, Premium, Enterprise and 'eligible API users' — Free and Creator output is personal use only — and Sonilo states plainly that those rights 'do not remove every copyright, platform, client, or broadcast review'. The training-data claim is Sonilo's, not independently audited. Hard limits: music 1–360s, SFX 1–180s, uploads typically 300 MB, H.264/HEVC/VP9/AV1 in mp4/mov/m4v/webm. Billing is per second generated with a couple of free runs per tool, except dubbing, which bills from the first call.
